Good practice and support

  • Use one key per integration, with the narrowest role that works, and rotate keys periodically (create the new key, switch over, delete the old one).
  • Call from your server, never from a browser or mobile app.
  • Sync incrementally with gtimeStamp instead of re-downloading everything.
  • Handle 204 as "empty list".
  • Retry safely. Because you choose the record ID, retrying a failed or timed-out upsert with the same ID cannot create a duplicate. Back off on 429 and 5xx.
  • Round to 2 decimals and compute totals exactly as described in What you must calculate yourself.
  • Watch the audit trail. Changes made through an API key appear in the business's audit report under the key's name.
