About the delivery challan generator

A delivery challan is the document that travels with goods when they move without a sale invoice, for example goods sent for job work, goods sent on approval, or a branch transfer. It records what is being moved, in what quantity, to whom and why. This generator builds a printable challan with your business and consignee details in the standard layout.

How to use it

  1. Enter your business name, address and GSTIN, and the challan number and date.
  2. Add the consignee name, address and GSTIN if they have one.
  3. List each item with its description, HSN code, quantity and unit.
  4. Select the reason for movement and add vehicle or transporter details if you have them.
  5. Print the challan, keeping one copy for yourself and sending one with the goods.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

When is a delivery challan required under GST?
It is used when goods are transported without an invoice, such as for job work, supply on approval, or where an invoice cannot be issued at the time of removal. The rules are set out in the CGST Rules.
Is a delivery challan the same as an invoice?
No. A challan records movement of goods. A tax invoice records a supply and the tax charged on it.
Is the delivery challan generator free?
Yes, free with no signup and no watermark.
Do I need an e-way bill as well?
If the value of the consignment crosses the e-way bill threshold, an e-way bill may be needed even when a challan is used. Check the current rules for your case.
